Account Services - Debit Cards
First National Bank and Trust offers debit cards. A debit card (also known as a bank card or check card) is a plastic card that provides the cardholder electronic access to his or her bank account(s).
There are currently two ways that your bank processes debit card transactions: online debit (also known as PIN debit) or offline debit (also known as signature debit). One physical card can include both the functions of an online debit card and an offline debit card.
To report a lost or stolen debit card, please call 1-800-528-2273.
To report a lost or stolen debit card during the weekend or after hours, please call 1-800-889-5280.
Frequently Asked Questions:
If you plan to use your debit card while traveling out of the state or country, please note the following:
For your protection, we block all foreign transactions including some states from presenting transactions on your debit card. If a customer plans to travel, it is always best to notify the bank of your planned destination and the duration of your trip. If the area(s) you plan to visit is currently blocked to debit card use, we can release that block for you during your trip. Please notify your bank representative a few days in advance to prevent your debit transactions from being unauthorized.
Making a debit card transaction with my PIN vs my signature:
If you use a PIN (debit) based transaction, and the merchant system is compromised, your card number and PIN could both be stolen. Fraudulent transactions using both card number and PIN number are much less likely to be refunded.
If you use a signature (credit) based transaction, and the merchant system is compromised, even though your card number could be stolen, your likelihood of loss is eliminated.
